Dot's Pecan Pie
Dot was Donna Baskerville’s mother. This is her famous pecan pie.
- 1 cup Karo corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pecans, broken
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 2 Tbs butter, melted
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 15 to 20 whole pecans to decorate top of pie
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine all ingredients and mix together. Pour into an uncooked pie crust (opposite page). Decorate top of pie with whole pecans.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then reduce heat and bake for an additional 30 t0 35 minutes, or until you can stick the point of a knife into pie and the knife comes out clean.
